Commoner/Lower Class Characters

If your character is a Commoner or Lower Class, then he or she should select one Primary Trade Skill and optionally one Secondary Trade Skill.

The Primary Skill is the one the character learned as a child. These are generally Trades or Craft skills. Some characters will have only this skill. It is what they were raised to do, have done as adults and (most likely) still do.

The Secondary Skill is the career the character chose (or had thrust on them) later in life.

The most common secondary skills (That would lead to the character being in the Caribbean) are Military, Naval, Merchant Marine or Criminal. Other alternatives include any of several Unskilled jobs which the character may have been forced to do if his regular trade was not in demand at the moment.

General Skills are skills that an individual is likely to have learned in their lifetime that are not related to their trade or profession. The Weapon Skills listed with the general skills are for those characters whose careers have not otherwise given them weapon skills. All Commoners and Lower Class are assumed to have some skill at brawling and unarmed fighting. They may additionally select two (2) other weapon skills from the list.
